Description

Hyaluronic Acid 1500 kDa is a cosmetic-grade, high molecular weight Sodium Hyaluronate powder designed for use in water-based cosmetic formulations. With a molecular weight of approximately 1,500,000 Da (1500 kDa), it is supplied as a white powder that slowly hydrates in water to produce hydrated cosmetic systems.

The current BYC Lab batch has an assay of 96.8%, with a glucuronic acid content of 44.62%, and conforms to the specified molecular weight of 1,500,000 Da.

Formulation Guidance

Typical Use Levels

  • Toners / Essences: 0.05 - 0.1%
  • Creams / Lotions / Mask Serums: 0.1 - 0.2%

Solubility: Water-soluble and slowly hydrates in water, glycerine or propylene glycol. Insoluble in the oil phase.

Incorporation: Add to the water phase. For easier dispersion and to minimise agglomeration, pre-disperse the powder in glycerine or propylene glycol before adding to deionised water under gentle stirring. Allow to hydrate fully before emulsification.

Temperature: Best incorporated at room temperature or ≤45°C. Avoid prolonged heating above 60°C. Temperatures above 80°C may degrade molecular weight and reduce viscosity.

pH: Optimal formulation pH is 5.0–7.0. The material is stable within approximately pH 4.0–7.5. Strongly acidic or alkaline conditions may degrade the HA chain and reduce viscosity.

Compatibility: Compatible with panthenol, allantoin, glycerin, propylene glycol, most humectants, nonionic and mild anionic surfactants, and most cosmetic actives. High concentrations of strong oxidants, strong acids or alkalis should be avoided; high concentrations of cationic polymers may cause precipitation.

Important Information

This product is supplied as a cosmetic raw material for formulation purposes and is not a finished cosmetic product. Formulators are responsible for determining appropriate use levels, compatibility, stability and the safety and regulatory compliance of the finished formulation.

Storage

Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight, high temperatures and moisture. Keep sealed after opening to minimise moisture absorption.

Shelf Life: 2 years from the date of manufacture when stored appropriately in the original unopened packaging.

For external cosmetic formulation use only.
