BYC Lab - Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 September 2026
1. About us
This website, byclab.co.uk, is operated by Beauty&You Cosmetic Lab LTD, trading as BYC Lab (“BYC Lab”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By accessing our website, creating an account or purchasing products from us, you agree to these Terms of Service together with the policies referred to on our website.
Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
2. Our products
BYC Lab supplies cosmetic raw materials, formulation ingredients and related products.
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, specifications and other information displayed on our website are accurate. Images are illustrative and colours, particle appearance, texture and packaging may appear differently depending on your device or, where applicable, reasonable batch-to-batch variation.
Product availability may change and we may discontinue products or change our range at any time. Changes will not affect orders already accepted except where reasonably necessary and permitted by law.
3. Cosmetic raw materials and formulation responsibility
Unless expressly stated otherwise, products sold by BYC Lab as cosmetic raw materials or formulation ingredients are not finished cosmetic products. They are supplied for appropriate cosmetic formulation or related intended uses described on the relevant product page.
Product descriptions, typical or recommended use levels, solubility information, incorporation methods, formulation guidance, examples and other technical information are provided for general informational and formulation guidance purposes.
Where technical information originates from a manufacturer or supplier, BYC Lab may reproduce, summarise or communicate that information for customer convenience.
Customers who formulate products are responsible for determining the suitability of an ingredient for their particular formulation and intended use and, where applicable, for appropriate formulation development, compatibility testing, stability testing, preservative efficacy testing, safety assessment, regulatory compliance and finished-product testing.
Nothing in this section excludes BYC Lab’s responsibility to supply goods that meet the requirements imposed by applicable law, including goods being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for a purpose where the law requires it. UK consumers have statutory rights relating to these standards which contractual terms cannot lawfully remove.
4. Technical documentation and specifications
Certificates of Analysis (COA), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and other technical documents may be available for certain products.
Documentation may originate from manufacturers or suppliers and may relate to a particular batch, specification or supplied material. Customers should read the relevant documentation together with the product information supplied by BYC Lab.
Where batch-specific documentation is available, the applicable batch documentation should take precedence over general or historical documentation for batch-specific characteristics.
Reasonable batch-to-batch variation may occur in some raw materials, particularly materials of natural origin, including differences in colour, odour, appearance, texture or other characteristics, provided that the material remains within its applicable specification.
5. Eligibility to purchase
To place an order with BYC Lab or create a customer account, you must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
If you are under 18, you should only place an order with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide to us is accurate, current and complete.
6. Orders
Submitting an order constitutes an offer to purchase the products in your basket.
We may decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, for example because a product is unavailable, payment cannot be authorised, an obvious pricing or listing error has occurred, we cannot deliver to the supplied address, or we reasonably suspect fraud or unlawful activity.
If we cancel an order after taking payment, we will refund the relevant amount.
Please check your order details carefully before submitting your order and contact us promptly if you discover an error.
7. Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.
The price payable is the price shown at checkout when you place your order, subject to correction of obvious errors where permitted by law.
Applicable delivery charges will be displayed before you complete your purchase.
We may change prices, promotions and discounts for future orders at any time. Changes will not retrospectively alter the agreed price of an order already accepted, except where required or permitted by law.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.
8. Shipping and delivery
Available delivery methods, charges and estimated delivery times are displayed at checkout and/or in our Shipping Policy.
Delivery dates and times shown as estimates are not guaranteed unless expressly stated otherwise.
We will take reasonable steps to deliver orders within the agreed or legally required timeframe and will deal with delays in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
Nothing in these Terms removes any legal rights you may have where delivery is late, unsuccessful or otherwise not carried out as agreed.
9. Returns, cancellations and refunds
Returns, cancellations and refunds are governed by our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Nothing in that policy or these Terms limits statutory rights relating to faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods or any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Storage, handling and use of ingredients
Customers should follow the storage, handling and safety information supplied with a product or contained in applicable product documentation.
Once goods have been delivered, customers are responsible for storing and handling them appropriately.
Cosmetic raw materials should be kept away from children and should not be ingested or used for purposes inconsistent with their product information unless expressly identified as suitable for such use.
Where a product is identified as being for external cosmetic use only, it must be treated accordingly.
11. Business and consumer customers
BYC Lab supplies both individual consumers and customers purchasing for business or professional formulation purposes.
Where you purchase as a consumer, your statutory consumer rights apply.
Where you purchase wholly or mainly for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft or profession, different legal rules may apply.
Nothing in these Terms seeks to remove rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Website information
We take reasonable care in preparing information published on our website. However, technical, scientific and formulation information should be considered in the context of the particular ingredient, formulation and intended application.
Information provided through BYC Lab does not replace any professional safety assessment, regulatory assessment or other assessment legally required for a finished cosmetic product.
We may correct typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions and update website information when reasonably necessary.
If an error materially affects an order you have already placed, we will deal with the matter fairly and in accordance with applicable law.
13. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the BYC Lab website and its original text, branding, graphics, photographs, designs and other original content belong to Beauty&You Cosmetic Lab LTD or are used with appropriate permission.
You may use the website for lawful personal or business purchasing purposes.
You must not reproduce, republish, commercially exploit or distribute our protected content without permission except where permitted by law.
Third-party trademarks, technical documents and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.
14. Acceptable use
You must not use our website:
- for unlawful or fraudulent purposes;
- to interfere with the operation or security of the website;
- to introduce malicious software or harmful code;
- to impersonate another person or provide deliberately false information;
- to infringe the intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights of another person; or
- to attempt unauthorised access to our systems or accounts.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect BYC Lab, our customers or our systems.
15. Third-party services and links
Our website may use or link to services operated by third parties, including payment, delivery and ecommerce service providers.
Third-party websites and services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for independent third-party websites that we do not operate or control.
This does not exclude responsibility that BYC Lab has under applicable law for services used by us to fulfil our contractual obligations to you.
16. Liability and statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under consumer protection legislation.
For consumers, we do not exclude responsibility for supplying faulty or misdescribed goods or for other statutory obligations that cannot legally be excluded.
We are not responsible for loss caused by circumstances for which we are not legally responsible or for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
If you are purchasing wholly or mainly for business purposes, additional limitations permitted by applicable law may apply.
17. Dispute resolution
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@byclab.co.uk so that we can try to resolve the matter directly.
If we are unable to resolve a dispute, you may seek independent guidance from the Citizens Advice Consumer Service or another appropriate consumer advice or dispute-resolution service.
This does not affect your right to pursue any other remedy available to you under applicable law, including through the courts.
18. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
Our store is hosted using Shopify, and relevant information may also be processed by Shopify and other service providers involved in operating our store, processing payments and fulfilling orders, as described in the applicable privacy information.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our services, business practices or applicable law.
The version displayed on our website will state when it was last updated.
Changes will not retrospectively remove contractual or statutory rights relating to orders already placed.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as modified or removed to the extent necessary, without affecting the remaining provisions.
21. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings available to you under applicable law.
